Default CX long wheel base in Aus?

    Hi
Was wondering if the long wheel base CX mentioned in Wickipedia made it out to Australia.
Does the CX have enough room in the back for people over 6 ' ?
    cheers

Years ago I almost bought one at auction. It was a private import in amazing condition. Still regret missing that. There was also one getting around in Adelaide for a while, very poor condition so probably wrecked for parts by now.

One of my greatest regrets was selling ours some 20 odd years ago - '85 CX 2500ie Prestige - amazing car!!
The little foot pillows you can see in the above image allowed for people of short stature as they can be placed forward as a foot rest.

The stainless windscreen surround is the initial giveaway that it's a Prestige, then the higher roof above the gutter line, also the shorter distance between the rear end of window of the back door and the door's trailing edge than on a short wheelbase door, the style of c pillar mould, etc,etc

Any of the wagons (safari or familiale) are also on the longer wheelbase (once again private imports). There were ones sold as hearses - I have seen one and the only modification was a reshaping of the tailgate to allow for a slight bulge to give a little more length internally.

A really nice car when they're right.

To confuse a little further, there was also a long-wheelbase CX known as a "Limousine". Basically, a Prestige bodyshell dressed like a Pallas, usually sold as a diesel/5speed. Very comfy in their own right, just not quite Prestige levels of trim.

Oh for a big shed! They are such wonderful cars.

Perhaps it's time to rethink the daily drive!

Enough legroom for a daily drive I would say. Depends on how much you are willing to pay the driver

Here is a video I shot earlier - about 7 years ago - of a ride in the back of Greg's CX Prestige on a CCC NSW day out. I am 191 cm tall, a bit less than Greg, and had tonnes of legroom. As a comparison as one point we pass Mrs UFO driving her gold CX 2500ie Pallas. See how close her 150cm has her to the wheel.
