    Default CX Spheres

An acquaintance asked me a question about CX spheres and I do not have the info to correctly answer him. He has a number of CX spheres and was asking how to differentiate amongst the various units. I know that the sedans use 75 bar fronts and 40 bar rears (Breaks use a 35 bar rear) and that the GTI model units are different (different shock valving - I have to assume). Is there a way of looking at the exposed end of the shock to determine which model they go on. For example with D's/SM's it is dead easy as the by-pass holes are of completely different sizes as well as the addition of an extra shim for the SM rears. And the CX units I am aware of are some what in between. But between the various CX models I have nothing. Anyone able to provide better info?

    TIA

Are there not small etched numbers at the damper end?

GSF Car parts used to have a really good Citroen Spheres website that had car model, size, pressure and damper hole measurement. Does anyone have a copy of this offline?

    Hi Ken,

Is this the table to which you refer?

That is the one. Has some hole diameters missing but has most.

    Thanks Adam,

Exactly what I was looking for.

FYI D Fronts (all models) 1.80mm, D rears (all models) 1.60mm , SM front 1.45mm, SM rear 1.25mm.

In looking at the table pdf it would seem that the CX units I have re-gassed for folks have been the GTI ones as the hole sizes correspond to what I have listed in my notes.

Older style replaceable shocks for D models - 2.00mm front and rear. If anyone needs them I have a fairly complete set of valving and shim differences for the various D models also.
