Default Citroen Xsara engine swap, 1.6 twin cam?

Has anyone replaced an engine on a Xsara , twin cam?
My one is tired , poor compression on one cylinder and i have a very good Peugeot engine of the same type.

Looks to be a bit more room than on the Peugeot 206, so can you leave the box in place?
or is it still a fiddle?
    Any comments?

As you'd only have the gearbox mount to hold the gearbox in place, I reckon you've probably be better taking the whole lot out and mating the old box and replacement engine out of the car. Then fit it all back in.

You can support the gearbox with a trolley jack.

I think it much easier removing the whole k frame and dropping the engine and gearbox down. Much easier to refit gearbox, loom and accessories when out of the car.
