My guesstimate would be 100 in Australia?

is that all....how many were sold......there seems to be less Cx's than DS......so many have bit the dust...they still are not recognised as a classic car in values...quite strange really

I would hope there would be more than 100. There was one I hadn't seen before at the club meeting last night which was nice

There's apparently about 150 still on the road in the UK https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?page=1&q=Citroen+cx

Three possible four CX Familiales in WA, with at least a dozen CXs around Perth, plus a few in the country. One of the Perth people may be able to give you a better count than my guess. There always seems to be one lurking here or there.

Kimmo tries to maintain a CX register but it is dependent on people providing him with info. Some people are against his register but it at least gives you some idea of where to turn to if you need assistance. The register is at:
    CX Database
Update details of your recent acquisition with him.

Queensland Citroen Club have a register. I have a 1985 25GTi registered and running well. In the NSW Car Club there aee three I know of, a green Prestige, a silver GTi and another white car, not surd if it's a GTi or an IE. Another 2400 Pallas for sale on aussiefrogs.

No CX examples turned up at the French Car Day in Perth last weekend (including ours, due to a driver shortage). I reckon your number is about right. It suggests 15-20 in WA, doesn't it? That would be consistent with 150 around Australia, roughly.

Thanks for posting the database link. Ours is on his list. I can think of several in WA that are not.

Yeah, I'd have thought 150 to 200 max. Maybe less if you classify "on the road" as registered. Mine (1984 25 IE auto) is on the QLD CCC data base run by Kimmo, but there seems a lot on there that are probably since "gone to the big car park in the sky" or rusted into compost. Pity. I think they are as beautiful as the DS and a true pleasure to drive. One thing I am sure of is that mine is the only one in Narrabri.!

....on the road..... very very few! 150 is way too generous. I recon its as few as 20 in Victoria.

There's one seemingly on its way out broken down and parked on the street alongside Barkly Gardens in Richmond, Vic. A 2500 GTI. Looking a bit worse for wear. The owner has left a note saying he (or she) is arranging for it to be towed, and still the council has ticketed the poor bugger (with the ticket right over the top of the note)!

Bit of a shame nobody has apparently stepped up to help an enthusiast either with fixing or re-homing.

Well the last time I saw a CX when I was driving mine, but not on a club event was in 2009 when I came across Andy N's CX 2500D at Sylvania. It is a very rare occurrence. But then when was the last time I saw a D on the public roads, actually about a month ago but that was after a long drought. That doesn't accurately measure how many are on the road, i.e. registered. The state clubs should have a list of cars owned by members but wonder if it differentiates between registered or not.

I left my own note, offering to house it short term (I live around the corner), and/or provide a residential street parking permit whilst he/she arranges things, but haven't heard anything.

I have 5, (none on the road) 1 of which gets driven regularly around the yard.
4 would be potentially viable to register/restore.
1 is a bit too rusty in important places to be repaired
