    Default Xantia Parts cherche advice!

Does anyone know where to go online and find kit avant de protection contre la poussiere, amortisseur pour Citroen Xantia S1?
I have looked high and low for front suspension boot kit with zero results.
Was thinking perhaps XM had same? Other models? But where to buy?
Also replacing the steering rack tie rod ends, boots and ram bushes, what size seals does the rack have for LHM pipes?

All advice gratefully absorbed! good pun- suspension, absorbed. ah.

I bought some suspension boots off eBay 18 months ago. CitroŽn Xantia parts. All sorts of stuff if you keep trolling through.

I've been there and done that! Cardan and direction boots aplenty but amortisseurs? Non monsieur! There are boots on fr.ebay that LOOK like the right part but without the part numbers I'm at sea adrift. All the French sites I go to like Oscaro come up with zilch too. It's frustrating because I can usually dig up what I'm looking for.

ok minor breakthrough Kit de protection contre la poussiŤre, amortisseur SACHS 900 181

but they're for a X1 Xantia 2.0 16V, my searches on French auto sites for turbo essence models always come up with zilch! Would these fit he asks himself? The reason I want to buy offshore is because they're over $100 here! How do our businesses deal with the competition one wonders in a modern world. Turnbull should be investigating the massive GST hole the internet economy has created!

might have to contact them via email as you can't set up an account outside la Rebublique! Quel branleurs!

Sometimes they are also called soufflets.

Ahh, the strut boot and the bump stop.

No idea about the Xantia bump stops, but they are NFP for the later XM. The slightly different item for the earlier cars was still listed last year, possibly because it's used in something else.

The boot is different for the early and later type strut mounts. By now, you should have converted to the later type mounts with the metal ring at the bottom, so you want the later type boot or it's a real stretch to get the earlier type to fit over the bottom of the later mount. They are the same part as for late XM and so are the strut return hoses.

New o-rings for the strut mount are not a bad idea at the same time.

p.s. Still looking for that D dash rheostat. Making mention of it here might flush it out ... or ensure I never find it!

    thanks Sherman, David!
I just can't find these soufflet suckers anywhere! HELP! Also before I have a go at the steering rack can anyone tell me what size seals are on the pipes?
    Cheers

EAI? Dapco? Dealer? Part# 527192, which is the larger diameter type and still listed as available from Citroen. For the earlier strut tops it's a 96...something number. French Connection may have some from a wreck.

If you take pipe seals out, the old trick (provided nobody has been there before you!) is to pull off the loose bits, turn the seal around and re-insert. It usually works OK. Edit: I'm not sure of the pipe size, so removed the mention of it. I gather it has a flow divider, so that may have a 6.35mm supply to the pinion. It could even have a union with o-rings.

ok I'm still no further ahead, I did find boots in Germany but with postage its the same as Oz. They wouldn't clarify the charges, like dropping VAT for example not mentioned, just send us €59... nup screw you guys.
Every site in France I've been on simply don't have them according to searches using a 2L CT turbo phase 1 etc. I have never been halted this solidly on a search. I need the rear bumpstops also. Looking at Continental in Sydney unless a wise clued in internet user can illuminate this black hole of foreign language internetedness.
Anyone? I've seen lots of google search results for Russian and surrounding nations car sites but I don't want to go anywhere near them....

Have you phoned Continental and spoken to their parts manager? Just a thought.

Matt's hands (assuming it is still he at the counter) are somewhat tied. The best you can usually get with a modest push is non-dealer trade price.

You should fit the later Hydractive sphere brackets, too.

    Soufflets 527192

    Bracket Left 5271E2
    Bracket Right 5271E5

    Butťes Elastiques 503349 (NFP)

Total Oz RRP excluding bump stops, $774.08
Total from Midi Auto Lorient including the bump stops, $730 approx.

thanks guys yes spoke to Matt very helpful, these parts apart from strut mounts should be cheap as, but, and hard to find.
The Lithuanian guy was offering phase 2 mounts with right diameter top bolt and pipes swap on a phase 1 for around hmm can't remember, have to hunt the email, you get slogged for exchange, and sending two chunks of Citroen there doesn't add up. The guy came back to me two weeks later saying he'd do them for €400 in bitcoin. I said no thankyou kindly!
I'll have another crack at midi auto lorient. Deep breath. Thanks.

The Lithuanians are genuine, I can see the problem with freight both ways however.

Many of the sites like the Ukrainian ones mentioned, are champions for listing stock they cannot obtain - or if you read the fine print on an item, it will say something like "Nil stock, none available".

Try also asking JC Euro Parts, they have a chap called Richard who handles their English language correspondence.

Well, I'm in awe regarding working with the one and only Philip. I've found Continental consistently superb to deal with from Perth by phone.

Well I secured the last two soufflets de protection amortisseurs in the country through Continental. Rear bumps stops part 516655 still charting cherching....

And Matt even scraped some percentage off the price.
The front bump stops on the pistons are no longer available.
I think Xantias days are very numbered on this planet really.

I always expected the car would outlast the supply of spare parts. Bugger. Good you got what you needed though.
