I thought mine was good, but that is sensational.

What have you replaced and what colour was it before?

    Nice Neil.

    Jealous.

Though my fabric seats are much easy to recover.

Very nice indeed. I don't really like the idea of leather in a CX but that does look good.

In our climate, cloth makes far more sense, especially with a CX.
Leather can be ideal where kids are involved! That icecream is removed very easily.

Cassis was also a Jensen paint colour, essentially a purple. These seats look more ripe plum than purple or is that just the picture.

p.s. That red Xantia in the background would probably appreciate some Forever Black or Plasticare on it's grey bits!

Couldn't it be the leather lacquer binder going brown with age? I'm more envious of the road trip involved in fetching them (as recounted elsewhere on the 'net).

So how did you get them home? I also bought some seats in the Netherlands, but ended up stripping the leather covers off and posting them at 50 euros per 20 kg. Did you end up shipping a pallet home? If so, who did you use and at what cost?

    Thanks, Erik

You'd fit the CX seats in the back of a xantia wagon with the seats folded down

it had been on a shelf for a few years, had to feed it to soften it up a little ready for use. Also applied a restoration kit (dye on the couple of scratches it had then finished it with a sealer.

I swapped over (the VIP INTERIOR) centre console, panel behind the heater control, fuse box, instrument binnacle all three pieces. Fuse box and glove box.

on the doors all but the top door cappings and arm rest ( the pads are the cassis ones) seats front and rear.

Had all the other interior trims re done in black nylon (A,B,C posts and others between.

it was always Cassis with black piping, I just cleaned, added a little colour matched dye where it had a few small scratches and then sealed it.. all supplied as a kit from a local trimmer.

I've always been happy with the VIP interior, still like the look of it. I always fancied the Dark Black currant interior and thought it would finsh the detail of the car nicely... I think the wait was worth it

it's the camera picture quality these are a dark black currant colour.

The Xantia was looking a little neglected, not normally how it is represented

I live in Hull on the North East coast of the UK. We have a ferry port in the town though it cost £290 to take the car over to Rotterdam, so had a nights entertainment too, well two nights including the trip back fuel was cheaper in Holland and the Euro -GBP rate was quite good at the time, I ran the tank down to fill it up over there. Topping it up on the run home as we approched the ferry port.

I reckon the guy I was meeting must have thought it was a joke. Communication was only by email after the ad for the interior was sent to me by a fellow Dutch CXer (posts on here ). I said I was interested and was sent a few more pictures of the interior part set, not just the seats. we agreed a price (had to sell the kids). At that price I wanted to see it before handing over the cash.. the ferry was a small loss if the the interior was a bad one.... as you can see it was worth the trip. the contents filled the rear of the Xantia and the front passenger seat too.

The odometer reading on the car when I got back to my drive was 32,193... wierd as CGATs reg is C193 GAT

that's exactly what I did. I thought of taking the CX over, interior stripped out and fitting it there but decided against... too many times have we all been there with a plan that met a few snags, so it was seats down and jobs a good un.

padded it out a little more in this thread, The guy was gent and a big Cit fan... more in to the DS though, he bought the interior many years back and shelved it. He had intended it to go in to a red GTI Turbo he has.. that is up for sale now, as he is moving to Indonesia.

That looks first class Neil. Must be as rare as hens teeth! I'll have to make do with Cassis Nacre on the outside only (or Ribena as my daughter calls it!)
