Icon8 2011 C4 auto engine fan cuts in when I stop.

Does anyone have an Idea why the fan cuts in when I stop... water is OK. Will a computer check tell me the problem?

It may not be a problem. When the engine stops, so does the engine pump circulating the coolant. The coolant temperature inside the engine will rise (the metal is still very hot), and will be noticed by a sensor. Cooling the radiator can keep the rise under control.

Quite normal to get quite a temperature spike when engine stops. My Xantia 16V does it quite regularly. If you turn it back on and check the temperature gauge, you will find it quite a bit higher than normal.

The phenomenon is called heat soak. Basically, the system gets hot just from sitting after a run because now there is nothing moving over the cooling system to carry the heat away. The fans are normally configured to come on "hot"- that is, they're battery fed rather than ignition fed- to help prevent the cooling system from going over temp and causing coolant loss. A very normal thing in cars with pressurized "sealed" systems. Shouldn't be any problem just so long as you keep the system maintained and bled of all air.
