    Default External temp sensor

Does anyone have any info on a TSB for fitting an external temperature sensor to the water outlet box in EP6 engines?

Is an "external temperature sensor" a coolant temp sensor, or are you thinking of something else?

I'm talking about the EP6 plastic water outlet at the flywheel end, that contains a temperature controlled valve, and a built in temperature sensor. This sometimes fails. You see them advertised as a unit on ebay. I have been told there is a Technical Service Bulletin describing a fix, which reputedly involves an external sensor. Does anyone have any info on this problem and fix?

Ok, I didn't think there was a modification possible, but perhaps there is.

AFAIK, there are two types of housing (outlet tank): one with a non-replaceable coolant temp sensor and one with a replaceable sensor.
