Default C3 head gasket removal: a how to do it...

    Hi
The Haynes manual for the 1.4L TU3JP engine has gone missing in the house and the head needs to have its gasket replaced over the weekend.
Does anyone know of a web site or have the releveant section of the haynes manual scanned or in a file that can be emailed? I have all the gaskets & new water pump ready yo go.
    thanks Carl

I have a C3 Haynes Manual. From previous experience, its too hard to get a legible scan up onto AF. PM me with your email if you need help over the weekend.

    Cheers,

from memory before changing the head gasket the camshaft and crankshaft are locked in position with a 9? and 10mm? bolt thru pulley/sprocket wheels.
Could someone please confirm these bolt sizes,
    thanks

    This document may be helpful:
    http://service.citroen.com/dtt/CDP/d...us_c3_2002.pdf

You also want to be careful that there is no erosion at the top of the liner where the gasket has failed.
It's possibly not a bad idea to replace the timing belt, tensioner, roller and water pump at the same time.

Try the link again. It was malformed. That particular document is not behind the paywall.

Default Page 1 of the Haynes Manual

I have scanned the whole of this Chapter. PDF file is 5 Megabytes.

Here is my first upload try of Page 1 using 500kb zip file limit. More to follow if this works.

    Cheers,

The zip upload limit is 1Mb, whereas individual images etc. are 100kb.
You can significantly reduce the file size for text and line diagrams etc. if you change the scanner settings to a 1-bit B&W.

Thanks David. I was working to 500kb limit but this should get Carl there. Pics wouldn't look too good at 1bit depth.

    Must be dinner time.
