I guess it doesn't help much that this is "only" A$190,000!

The Peugeot 404 there is A$12000, I guess a fair bit more than the average "good" 404 might fetch here.

I live in hope that the CX will one day become valuable.....

    Me Too!!!!
On the positive side I serviced the 53 Lt15 today and then took it for a test run. I guess that it drives as well as any TA that is around and certainly as well as that 38 Roadster!!!

I think we're all doing pretty well - - - - able to drive great cars in the D Model range and still being able to pick up Tractions at pretty cheap prices. Yes, the Big 6 is climbing higher. The $38,000 that I painfully paid for mine seems cheap in comparison to this lovely convertible - - - but I know which one I'd rather have - - and it isn't the convertible.

For the most part we can afford and enjoy driving what we want. It might not always be this way.

I'd rather the convertible fitted with a 10x31 final drive but up spec'ed to 1911 ccs. The six is great but ---far too heavy to work on and a voluminous gas guzzler! How do I know? ----Personal experience!

I enjoyed my 6H. The power was phenomenal ----- all torque based. I loved it when heading up the Pentland Hills climb to Ballarat sitting in the left lane and an AP6 Valiant saw it as just another old car and tried to pass, I just put the foot down ---- the torque kicked in and ----bye bye Valiant!!!!!!!
As you said "What a car".
The down side was that I now have a permanently damaged back due to an accident with the 6.5 hundred weight of motor and gearbox. All my own fault for working on it with out a purpose built floor stand in which to safely cradle the power unit!
If I had enough cash yes I would get another one---- but it would have to be an outstanding example, not a need to restore unit!

Sorry, but I want a real one. I have driven that when Peter Scales owned it. At the time it was just plain scary! I hope you have improved it and now it is an acceptable drive!

    Default roadster

front end totally removed and rebuilt with all original Citroen parts including wheel bearings

but with Mitsubishi sealed for life drive shafts welded to original splines

drive train replaced front and rear from hubcaps bolts to gearbox output flanges!

Pilote wheels with hubcaps and new michelins

and just about every non original part replaced with originals throughout engine bay

only offensive thing now are the tell tale dashboard lights

have a three spoke steering wheel awaiting paint too

    cheers

Glad to hear that it has had so much work done on it. That level of commitment is to be applauded. I hope that you are happy with the result!
