    Default ID19 Noise

    Hello, All
recently, I have started notice the noise coming from motor or engine room. I can hear occasional bird chirping squeaking sound. It even happens when car is not moving. Any Idea? Thank you.

I'd have said it's something rattling inside the car ........................ eg: something in the glovebox moving around.

Hello, I have changed belt to new one and adjusted as necessary.... I checked both generator and water pump movement and they are smooth no noise coming from there.
    Thanks

    Loose exhaust clamp ?

Bowden Cable or steel pipe rattling ?

Loose steel cover in engine bay rattling?

    Engine prop bracket rattling?

It's seems a familiar noise but difficult to name.

If you draw four blanks on the descriptions.

It's probably best to take it to a mechanic.

Advice, by the nature of an audio file and forum posts needs to pretty general.

try lifting the bonnet and very slowly increasing the revs.... the air pickup tubes vibrates like crazy at about 2200rpm on one of mine. It could be anything though. It sounds like something rubbing to me as apposed to something like a fanbelt.

Still sounds like a dry bearing, or something rubbing. Does the ID19 have a cabin ventilation fan?

    Cheers

OK I will try, very hard. If I cannot find source of noise, I just leave it till really break down permanently.

Will fuel pump or hydraulic pump make noise like that?

I too have been trying to identify an odd noise coming from my car. Quite different to yours but in my explorations I managed to create a squeak similar to yours that occurred once I had mucked around with the headlight springs. Now they squeak in a similar way on odd occasions... I haven't tried any lube as yet, was thinking of using some of that 'dry lube' from Jaycar.

DSpecial 4speed Beige Vanneau, previous ; XM 2.0, maroon, my first.
And a variety of the usual crapboxes before seeing the light. Except my Mini Cooper with the 3.4 cam and twin webers - that wasn't a POS.
