    Default VASS in Melbourne area

    hi all
I'm nearly done fixing up my imported 1988 2CV and about to kick off the VASS inspection for compliance to ADRs.
VicRoads list around a dozen engineers in the Melbourne area - wondering if anyone could recommend any? Otherwise I'll just start ringing the closest ones.

I've done most of the mods required - reversing light, 3 point rear belts, child seat anchor points and front headrests - however nothing on side impact bars (this one has me worried) or collapsible steering column (should get away with this given the column is near vertical and the windscreen is so close). I'll probably take it for inspection and see what I get away with.

    thanks
    Tim

    Tim,
I had my Ferrari Vass'd by Rowan Carter..he has a workshop in collingwood but inspected my car at his house in Hawthorn (not far from Camberwell mkt)
He is the only one I would recommend as they all look at your car with different eyes!!!
    Cheers and good luck

What area are you in? I know a good one Tullamarine. I can send you his details if that area suits. BTW is that Rowan Carter in the above post? (His business is CarTech).
    Cheers

    +1 recommendation for Rowan.
We talked through a plan for the tricky bits and I now have import approval - side impact bars and rear 3-point/child restraints were the main headache.
Roadworthy is another story, part way through getting this stuff sorted but the rules on rust here are crazy.....half the cars on roads in the UK would fail this....
