A friend of mine took me for drive in his yesterday as he was very concerned about some strange noises.
Every time he changed gear it made a loud squeak which lasted for about 1/2 sec, quite disconcerting.Of course this doesn,t happen when the car is stationary! Any clues out there?

    Radiator stay is snug?
Brake disc touching the sheet metal duct?
    BVH needs to be bled?

Does the noise happen immediately upon movement of the BVH lever, or half a second or so later? The reason I ask is that my DS19 makes a noise like that but not very loud. It happens about half a second after I move the lever and I think it is caused by the action of the synchro delay pistons in the BVH control valve. Rather than worry about it I listen for it and celebrate it because it mean the next gear has been engaged.

Mine does the same thing occasionally with the 1-2 shift. Also, sometimes the effort for the 1-2 shift is a more than normal.

I spoke to to a long time Citroen mechanic and he said both are fairly common and not a concern.

Both only happen on the 1-2 upshift. I'm curious what others have experienced.

Mine had that for a few days, but it disappeared. Quite quiet now. We did a bleed. That might have helped.

in my bvh if the LHM level starts to drop a little low, the first thing that is noticed is it starts to clunk when I change gear. I can't recall if any difference when stopped or not but checking the fluid level on maximum height adjustment would be my first check (and easiest fix!)
