Default My BX is dying :-(

well it's not really dying, it just needs TLC, and it turns out that we are officially out of parts in this country

    So a couple of questions:
Does anybody happen to have a right hand side tie rod?

and/or which overseas sites are the best for buying BX parts?
As someone who also has a BX 16v to rebuild, I am going to need these relationships for a few years.

    Thanks

Have you tried European Auto Imports? That's where I got my last pair for the Mi16 from.

Inner or outer rack end? I have early 405 ones, LemfŲrder. Think they fit.

Overseas, worth avoiding Car Parts 4 Less, AKA Euro Car Parts. Heaps of new choices and NOS to be found with a little hunting.

If you tell the chaps on BXClub.co.uk ? Index page that you're wanting to keep one running, they'll likely go above and beyond to help.

Best of luck Gamila. I've got rid of my last BX recently and all spare parts (although I didn't have any tie-rods), it went to Gippsland to be kept running condition. Sorry that I can't help

Without risking being sued for badmouthing, why would you avoid Euro Car Parts? Was thinking of getting some bits from them for my 205 DTurbo

Hi Gamila, I'd be surprised if that part wasn't the same as one from a a peugeot... possibly a 405 or something like that.
    Someone here should know...

My personal experience was ordering two Bosch lambda sensors, receiving one new and one clearly used part, and despite repeated approaches to the business no return of communications.

This experience relates similarly to those of others in the UK. Just ask on French Car Forum about the two businesses to hear what some have experienced.

    Cheers, Adam.

There's a few suppliers here in NZ that still stock BX parts (or can get them easily).

    Hi All

    thanks for the tips.

@pgt16yep tried EAI, I haven't had any luck with them for several years now.

@addo and @george 1/8th it might be the same as the 405, but mine are about 20cm long, with a kink about half way along and with female threads for mounting onto the rack. Does it sound like any 405 one you know?

@Mungous I forget the presents of cits in NZ, I'll check them out.

No body has one hiding in a back shed...?

Seems to be BX only and the part number is apparently 95496045:

    My BX is dying :-(-bx_tierod.jpg

A few will turn up via eBay. For example:
Motoquip Citroen BX Drivers Right Hand Side Track ROD END VSS329 95496045 | eBay

I would think you might find one from AN Auto in Melbourne, although they are I think wholesalers.

Yes if anyone is really stuck for bx parts, I am a member of the bx club in the Netherlands, they have a large secondhand stockpile of bx parts. Send me a pm if you need anything.

Early 405 are kinked but the threads are male on the outer, not inner. Can measure the overall to see.
