    Default Heading South in DS21

    Hi all,
Had to make tracks on our quick run from Brisbane. We flew up this arvo and we are now headed down coast from Bris as we decided we wanted to have a few swims. Cooling all sorted as well as various gremlins. Car is magnificent. I see what all the bvh fuss is about...a great pleasure to use. Arriving Melbourne on Sunday.

Maybe it was you I saw on the Kempsie bypass this morning. Looked great. Seems like you've had a real win.

All going swimmingly. This motor has used zero coolant or oil. Now in Canberra...just six hours till home! Fantastic trip with no misadventure. Will give full report on work in Brisbane...it was all the usual stuff plus replacement of some incorrect suspension arms/ball & socket...not urgent but thought I would do it. I am very much enjoying the sheer technical tour de force features of the model, the wonderful gear change and sumptuous interior. Tidying up to be done here and there, but yes it's a great car!

Great to hear it's travelling well. The fact it even has working A/C on R12 is another bonus. Many smiles per mile ahead. Enjoy,

Yes that was us for sure, Richard! Pity we didn't have a coffee! We were so rushed this time - getting back for work Monday - my only regret was that we didn't catch the froggers that we had hoped to here and there. Next time! We dipped into the surf at three different beaches, Evan's Head, Port Macquarie and Newcastle. Then glided across to Canberra to visit friends, then down the Hume to Melbourne.

    Hi Chris and Gillian,

I'm home and have your interior!

The cooling was the biggest issue and seemed to be caused by a collection of things - no proper skirt in front of the radiator, radiator 20 per cent blocked, timing out etc etc - but with these things corrected she stayed in the normal zone on the temp gauge for 2000klms!

Once up on the hoist in Brisbane there were a few things that stood out and needed attention, cobbled together bits of CX suspension, incorrect boots, it went on a bit but great to get it all sorted. Still bits of tidying to do...will probably repaint in original colour...quite presentable as is though. Bit sad to be home as it was such great fun. Makes all the difference taking a classic cit on a holiday. We will come down to Mona again this year and come and visit, but in the meantime let me know what to do re the interior.

Lack of skirt always deadly! I have a mate in Port Melbourne who will look after it til one of us comes back here. Do you still have my number? If not it's 0400890098, if you want to call me I can come up with a cunning plan. Well, a plan.

    Thanks,
