    Default DS4 motors

I am putting this in the CitroŽn forum as a DS one does not, as yet, exist. In Europe the market is being encouraged to drop the CitroŽn reference.

Anyway, the DS4 now has 5 power plant options in France
    3 cylinder PureTech 130 bhp
    Diesel BlueHdi 120 bhp
    and now
the petrol THP 165bhp with start/stop and 6 speed auto.
diesel BlueHDi 150 and 180 bhp.

They have also introduced keyless door opening and starter + a 7" touch screen

Personally, I will not use a touch screen for any function while driving. I have grown used to the ergonomics of physical controls that can be operated without taking one's eyes off the road. I find it impossible to use a touch screen without looking at it as there is often no other indication that the action has produced a result. It is made more difficult as one ages, as eyes adjust less easily at night to the changed focal distance and light level and in my case poor sensation at the finger tips due to needle jabs for diabetes manangement is no help. The range of cars suitable is diminishing and when the wheel gets replaced by a joystick, I will give up.

Gerry, the C4 Picasso we had in August had keyless entry and locking (it will not lock if a key is in the car which is handy if your wife has the other keys in her bag).

At no time we were required to touch the screen to perform any essential function for driving the car. It was only for use for controlling other non essential functions.

Yes, they have keyless locking in most of the range as Renault introduced 5 or more years ago. I was just translating their latest DS press release in Belgium. The C4 Picasso is a CitroŽn and has nothing to do with it.
I was a passenger last week in an new 308 and it worried me how the driver used the touch screen while driving. Also the curious relative position of the steering wheel and instruments which does not favour short drivers.
My GS is much easier to drive, no distractions except to accelerate to get over the speed humps.

Of course - sorry about that.

The 180hp is the same 2.0 HDi motor appearing here shortly in the 308 GT - 131kW/400Nm. I think it will be a popular engine.
