Default New C5 A/C Fan Fault

    Greetings

The A/C fan in our 2005 Series I C5 is not working.

I've changed the mosfet just like I did the last time the fan stopped working but it didn't work this time.

On start up the diplay shows fan blades filled in but no air comes out of the vents and then after a few seconds the display shows the four fan blades but none of them filled.

    Is the fan dead?

    Where is the fan?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards

    Alan

Here is the heater when removed. The big hole is where the fan fits in. The rectangular filter opening is under it. The flap motor's in the centre of the unit.

Don't know about '05 year but, in '04 the fan can be removed after removing the glove box. There's a little lock tab at around 11 o'clock on the outer rim of the fan, lift this and turn the fan anti clock past it then pull out the fan assembly. Stay lucky.

    Thanks Seasink and Shanadoo.

After much fiddling around I discovered that the problem was one of the pins on module where the mosfet is. The pin that accepts the 12V power plug had one pin with the soldering at the end where it connects onto the circuit board cracked away. I resoldered and it works.

    Regards
