    Default Source of 7mm washers

Citroen may have been in the avant-guard with the D series but their choice of fastener sizes can cause headaches for the restorer. It seems that the early cars were almost all held together with 5mm x 0.75 pitch screws and set-screws, rather than the internationally accepted 0.8mm pitch.
But that's not I'm posting about.
A lot of the mechanical parts on a D are held together with 7mm screws. If you front a good nut and bolt supplier in Australia with a request for 7mm flat and spring washers I will bet that you get a response along the lines of "naw, mate, dont exist, not available - piss off".
Well, they are available, but from a unexpected source. It appears that Lambretta scooters are fitted with 7mm bolts and a specialist in the UK has commissioned manufacture of both flat and spring washers. Not cheap by the time you add the exorbitant postage from the uk, but they appear to be the only game in town.

Do you need some washers... How many I have some spares here if your stuck (not a huge amount though). bags of 100 seem best value at that store.

Oh yeah, if your chasing taps ... ebay uk...

    m5 .75 tap | eBay

often M5 x 0.75 taps come up for about 12quid (UK made). Given I only ever chase holes with them, they seem to last forever (though I somehow snapped the tip off my last one).
