    Wow ... I want!!!!

1950 Citroen Other Sedan | Cars, Vans & Utes | Gumtree Australia Victor Harbor Area - Victor Harbor | 1051736532

look how tidy the interior is.... I'd just give it a good wash and drive it as is.... I reckon it looks great with all the patina.... I'll take the land rover beside it too.

That car is almost a twin of mine - colour, sun roof , indicator and horn arm, bumpers, rear stone guards etc except mine was delivered with easy clean wheels. The rego indicates early 1950 victorian registration. I wonder if it is a Shields motors car? They used to put a small plaque on the dash near the glovebox opening.
A 1949 11 CL8 in pretty original condition. Hope some body saves it. If it is relatively rust free its not a bad starting price. Hope the rear wheel cover is somewhere.

Edit:just noticed that is has a two spoke steering wheel, mine has the older three. The old 'slough parts bin' brought a lot of individuality at this time. Would be interested in the chassis no on the plate near the wiper motor.

Maybe that's it on the back seat?

Ok, the report is in and it's all bad.

Head is missing and engine internals have been exposed badly for a long time.

Bad, unrecoverable rot throughout the doors, floor and 2 guards.

Left front suspension has hit something hard enough to bend the control arms and chassis in the area.

Bonnet, boot and 2 guards savable, grille and 2 Lucas headlights ok.

General opinion is not restorable, parts resource only and way over priced.

    I fold!

Will sleep a lot better tonight. Well beyond my means. Sounds like you need a good $20k to make her all pretty again and as I've said many times before, there's plenty of runners in NZ just begging for new owners.

Well, if the sills and floors are only half-rusted, then you will probably end up doing the same job you'd be doing if they were fully rusted out. The panels are available to do it. A head would not be hard to find and you would probably end up changing the pistons/liners/rods/bearings etc. regardless, so the water entry may or may not have done any expensive damage to the camshaft, crank and oil pump. The bent suspension would be more of a problem, but the parts are around to change the front end. The asking price sounds a little optimistic. For about the same money you could get that much better brown Big 15 on the CCOCA website, assuming it's still there.
