You ain't kidding. Buying an original Kegresse at 5-10K is literally stealing it. On the other hand, I can see the auction company didn't do much research. Perhaps it wasn't as sexy as a SCUD missile and launcher.

The collector had died and his collection was dispersed..as is usually the case some things can be overlooked..
I emailed the auction house but got scant info save a photo of a chassis plate (That I had to ask for!!) not even on the auction page.
I did a little research and found the previous owner ..from France
A lovely car and I should have bid......wonder what It sold for?
I'm surprised one of your club members didn't bid on it

I reckon at least double..ie pay $10k...landed $20k ($5k freight? container as a non runner) and all the other cost's add up..
it could end up costing $30k esp when you need to fix he engine and unknowns??
    still a bargain...

As Hotrodelectric said, they don't know what they have. Amazing. Does anyone know how many of these are really left in the world?

My better half suggested that I didn't need it really.... Be pretty stylish in the western suburbs of Perth I reckon.

Thanks for that. Looks like about 100 left, without counting exactly. Remarkable vehicles.

There are some great stories associated with this one including a stuck throttle, a garage door and a blown up engine.

There is an incomplete example in the Darwin old Qantas hangar it was found derelict in Qld ,
so far the restored chassis has no bodywork , the rubber tracks cost thousands to reproduce

I could use the Kegresse at work.
Upped the workforce and have run out of car parking. Looks like the Afternoon shift will be parking on the grass, that will quickly turn to mud as it is seriously winter in Melbourne this year.
It's only a short trip to work so the tracks should last a while.
