    Default Start Ya Bastard

    Maybe the Nulon product should come with a warning;

    ...could cause a backfire and Explode Ya Engine!

    this is precisely what happened on the Donor CX. I was trying to start her up cos I have to move her soon, but she was being reluctant, so sprayed some 'Start Ya Bastard' into the air filter box then crank crank crank BANG!! Preignition inside the air intake plenum, which shot the plenum forward separating at the rubber joints. I put the plenum back but now she sounds even less enthusiastic about firing up.

    Getting any fuel at all? The check for spark is easy enough- just remove two of the HT leads, place across yer nipples, and crank. You'll know soon enough if you're getting spark.

    I forget if your car is EFI or carb. If it's carburetor, try dropping a little fuel directly down the throat of the carb. You could even chase with a short burst of ether. If it's EFI, you should be able to see if the rail is getting fuel. Also, especially if it's EFI, be sure either your battery is charged, or you have a working helper battery. EFI sucks a lot more power than you think.

    One place I haunt, it's known as "Seize, Ya C***" after a reluctant Delica turbo diesel finally started on the stuff, then seized thirty seconds later.

    HRE - were you scarred for life by your experiences as a shop boy?

    Is the fuel pump running ... Is it out of fuel? The injected ones should fire right up with a decent battery!

    Nah. I just learned to appreciate the finer things in life. Repeated 40K volts from an HEI system will do that to you. Talk about making your brown eyes blue....

    Yes its not trustworthy in plastic boxes , its OK if everything is metal , ,

    Ive used equal parts of it with kero and Castor oil to start my model diesel engine , the John Deere version is the best if you can get it , its rare
    it has 80% ether , quite a lot
