    Default Towbar

    Hi,

Does anyone know where I could get a towbar for a Xantia hatchback?

    Thanks

Probably have to go overseas for a new one, although you could try Martin Bray in SA (08 83836207) who may have a secondhand one in his collection. However, I have a new Xantia towbar wiring harness if you are looking for one.

I have had a quote from Europe for both the bar and the loom for just under $500.00 shipped. I remember paying far more than this for a landrover tow bar some years back so, probably a good price.

I recently bought a DIY fit towbar for my Lagauna wagon from this mob Home | Towbars Australia
    Price includes wiring kit.

They import from Poland - so have lots of options to fit Euro cars.

I was happy with the price and the speed of delivery. I have not yet attempted fitment - but the instructions look very clear. The instructions estimate 1.5 hours to fit the towbar.

For $500 you can buy a whole car with one fitted, swap it and onsell the car for the same money. Importing one when there are plenty around is not necessary. There have been a few mentioned sitting in yards in your area like Pickapart, but you would need to pull the rear bumper off to get at everything. Have you asked French Connection?

I had a look at that mobs web-site using the C5 as a refference and they are around $600 locally so, the European one is in the same price bracket.
David, I wil give French connection a call.

Warbler, is your harness for a series 2?
