Default CX GTI TURBO magazine article.

The English Practical Classics ,May2014 issue, new on news stands this week, has a well written seven page article, with good photos, on the restoration of a 1985 CX GTI Turbo.

The car was restored by a CCC of UK member, Jon, who has been extremely helpful after I purchased a CX 'Familiale' for the 2014 Raid 'Arctique'. He moved and stored the car, dealt with the registration/tax and then moved the car from Norfolk to Manchester for me. I fly out tonight to arrive in Manchester tomorrow afternoon, local time, and will collect the car - just fifteen minutes from the airport.

Jon is a fantastic example of the camaraderie and helpfulness of the French Car community and the Citroen fraternity in particular. All this help from someone I've never met in the flesh. His car looks fantastic and I'm hopeful of catching up with Jon, in person, to thank him - and look at his handiwork.

Lovely guy. Not Jon Presnell, I presume? Anyway, have a fabulous trip, both of you. We look forward, in order, to your safe return, evocative photos, and the Familiale in due course. Have a proper Guinness for me too! See you in early November too, with one of my Irish cousins, in one of the cottages.

    Best wishes

Sweet... I grabbed the only copy from the local news agents. It's easy to pic. It has a couple of old rovers, RO80, XM, R16 and CX turbo on the cover.

Interesting to note that they believe there are only 6 left on the road in the UK...We'd probably be close to that figure here!

It's a Series 1 GTi Turbo. Cx's rotted in the most spectacular fashion on the salty soggy pommy roads.

Good read. Dear God, the rust...... They are brave over there.

Interesting article about GS engines further in the magazine too. Quite a lot of interesting articles actually. I must look more often.

    Thanks Richard, for the information.
