    Default C4 coupe boot wont open.

    I have a mate with a C4 Coupe can anyone tell me how i can open the boot
    the latch is unresponsive.

    Crawl in from the back seat, and stick a small screwdriver into the hole on the lock. You can push the mechanism to unlock. Once it's open look for the fault. I'd start by peeling back the rubber sleeves on the hatch and checking the wiring.

    A reasonably common failure on PSA cars of this era is the microswitch for the hatch release (item 30 in attached piccy).

    This, of course, doesn't mean it's the problem in this case. The wiring loom can also be damaged near the hinge like seasink has suggested, or maybe some lubrication of the catch is required.
