Okay, you need to sit down for this...
We often talk about CX owners as keeping their car together with string and chewing gum.

Changed the engine and gearbox oil and, decided to adjust the clutch. With the spare wheel out, I checked out the bell-crank rods only to find........ queue the dramatic music and then laugh so much you go down clutching your chest......!

The bell-crank rods are so worn that, instead of buying new ones (they are available) he had tied them to the bell cranks with picture hanging wire!!!!!!
This has just gone from a rolling resto to a "wait till you have checked out the entire car before driving again" resto.

PS, why is all the forum info coming out in French....?

This is a result of the rapid depreciation of the cars when just a few years old! People who cannot afford to maintain them with new parts, purchased them in order to get into a level of motoring to which they would like to become accustomed. The cars get driven into the ground rather than maintained properly!

I must confess that I am in this category. But rather than resort to dodgy methods I have taught myself to perform the work rather than pay a professional to perform the work for me. At least this way I can use the correct parts!

blue CX wagon ?? That's a bloody good car that one.... If you crawl under it, it's rust free. The interior is excellent too.
