Default Traction Avant Family 9 registry.

Having put my Family 9 up for sale, then receiving an offer, I quickly realized that parting with it was just not possible (need to sell other stuff instead!). So I though it would be interesting to see how many Family 9's remain. John Reynolds in his 80 years of Citroen in the UK states that 6 survive from the batch of 24, plus the commercial.

So I'll go first my car is #4.

Any other owners or those that know of survivors (regardless of condition) please share what car number you have.

    Cheers
    Lyndon

If I was ever to sell mine (No3) I would take it to Europe.

There is a list somewhere online and I think Greg F. knows most of them.

I know of a shell here in NSW.

I have #7 & #17. Both were derelict by '80 where restoration of #17 has recommenced. From another list #15 is the Commercial and that one F9 went to Spain, in contrast to RHD.

Am I correct in assuming these are Familiales built to a Slough spec?

    Default tratio familiale

I bought in in Seymour Victoria in about 1982

it was green, not British racing green more dull than that

leather seats, wooden dash - round dials, 1955, big boot like a Big 15

it was complete except the centre of the three folding seats [strapontin] was missing

I ran it for many years, looked after it and then sold it in about 1995?

truck of a thing, nightmare to try to park !

it was bought by a young guy from WA

he drove it to Adelaide and then put it on a train to perth

    never heard from him since

so there might still be one over west

    cheers

The red Familiale came from NZ, brought in by Vern Issacs. Now inherited by his brother.
The F9 is still here in Perth, as far as I know, but I haven't seen the owner for some years....

Jon, Stuart – Yes there is still a real Family 9 in Perth.

Driven as supplied from Jon for many years. From memory it had done just over 11000 miles so was basically a new car and the ‘dull’ green paint job meant that it could be comfortably driven anywhere. Magnificent and very useful vehicle. Did a few trips to wineries round Margaret River fully laden. The ninth person was probably sitting on the floor as that middle occasional seat is still missing.

Eventually, I had the car media blasted to remove the dull green then original blue paint to reveal perfect metal work. Unfortunately the person trusted with the respray did not deliver much colour after several attempts but at least did no damage. The car is sitting in my shed waiting for its turn in the list of projects.

lovely to hear from you and that it is still around.... we used the gap in the middle of the fold up seats for a picnic basket!

so...I have lost count... how many cars have been found? and one is now for sale....... ideal wedding hire Citroen... hope that boosts interest in your car James

Good to hear from you Ian! I now run a Citroen workshop in O'Conner. Drop in some time and view the current projects.

Having looked at the data plate from #07 which is stamped PVF107 on the body plate, the stored data plate is stamped 9557006???.

I remember a bright yellow (!) one around Melbourne eastern suburbs in the early 70's and a metallic blue one that my history teacher drove in the early 60's

One of my mates owned a Maroon one Circa mid 70s.

    Melbourne Southern suburbs.

Was eventually sold to someone in NSW.

I wonder if the bright yellow one was the one that belonged to Ian Johnstone a CCCV member in the early 70's. If so it was converted to a six cylinder version that was never produced by Slough! What a car that would be today!
