Default Clicking and Clacking in steering on C5X7

    Hi Folks,

When I manoeuvre the Tourer around parking areas and in the back yard with lots of lock to lock steering wheel twirling, the front suspension emits lots of clicks and clacks which seem quite loud from outside the car but cannot be heard inside with the windows up or felt in the steering wheel?

Does anyone else's make this noise. Should I go spray some dry silicon spray on any of the joints? That big exposed knuckle joint at the bottom of the suspension worries me a bit. Does the steering need any maintenance? I have just hit 90000km.

    Folks,

I take it from the lack of response that no one else is having any click or clack noises coming from their steering? Maybe I should look into it harder or take it somewhere for an opinion.

    Cheers,

    Folks,

I did eventually find out what the noise was. One of the driveshaft boots was coming off the big round bit that attaches to the pivot at full lock and then clacking back into place (maybe) at straight ahead. After two attempts to fix it the second a new boot, the joint started to click during turning so obviously had become worn. Now I have fitted a replacement driveshaft.

    Cheers, Ken W
