    Default Citroen C4 AL4 auto

Sorry if this is a repeated topic but searching didn't produce info required.

Does the C4 have a transmission oil cooler?
Is it sufficiently effective for AU?

How often should the oil be changed in reality?

What are the problems that occur with this box?

What are the tell tail signs it's about to play up?

This enquiry is purely for preventative maintenance as I've heard & read negative comments yet nothing specific.

    Hi
    A few answers !
Does the C4 have a transmission oil cooler?
*Yes it has a water to oil cooler/warmer on the top of the box.

Is it sufficiently effective for AU?
*IMHO works OK. Keep the engine coolant up to concentration.

How often should the oil be changed in reality?
*NOW for the first time, then if dirty a quick change in a couple of thousand again. Then perhaps every 10 or 20,000.

What are the problems that occur with this box?
*The C4 probably has the revised solonoids. What year ? So will be OK probably with oil changes.

What are the tell tail signs it's about to play up?
*Unusual behaviour, harsh shifts and warning lights.

*There has been a lot of discussion about oil types, search for "AL4". IMHO just use a quality universal synthetic ATF that list it as suitable for this transmission.

Thanks Jaahn! It's a 2007 build, 2008 delivery 2.0L petrol. So hopefully it's an improved model.
