Default Fitting a towbar on a C5 sedan

I will be fitting a towbar on my 06 C5 sedan soon but the instructions don't show any details about the measurements for the cutout that needs to be removed from the lower part of the bumper to allow for the gooseneck.

Would anyone have the measurements or perhaps be able to post a photo of an installed towbar that shows the cutout please?

    Thanks.

Offer the towbar up, fit a couple of bolts and push it towards the bar then mark it at the sides. You need to cut upwards a couple of inches from memory, but it will become obvious how far as you do the job. You may find one or two of the bolt holes in the towbar need to be filed out a fraction to get it to fit. You are supposed to torque the bolts rather than just do them up. Negotiating with the exhaust is another issue. Hope it proves a simple job for you.
