Icon6 Reversing Sensors C5-set up for towing

I have recently imported a towbar and dedicated wiring kit from the UK for my C5. It has been installed by one of Melbourne's supposedly reputable mechanics. The reversing sensors do not disable when a trailer/caravan is connected as I assumed they would. I complained and was poorly treated but took it back to be fixed. Unsatisfactorily as it turns out.

I have my own diagbox and am a trained electronics tech so if someone could step me through the procedure for enabling the electronics I purchased it would be much appreciated.

AND NO! I will not be returning to said mechanics as they have appear to have no idea how to service a modern vehicle.

I only hope that the suspension side of things has been done more satisfactorily. Any tips here, too, would be well regarded.

Why would you want the reversing lights to turn off because a trailer is connected

Try the UK Citroen C5 Car Club, I would expect them to give advice in regard to your problem. Tony

Sorry, reversing sensors. I am not thinking too well. Of course you'd want lights on.

    Thanx Tony.

Has the ECU been "told" there is a towbar harness now installed? My understanding is the proper harness/ecu once coded to the car via Lexia will turn off the reverse sensors, also seen a mention it also disables the rear foglights and rear wiper(?), at least on the Picasso.
A relay harness won't do a thing usually, as an aside, a mate of mine has wired a switch to turn off his reverse sensors when he tows with his new Colorado ute.

Yes Shane, I bought a dedicated 'twin' kit. It has supposedly been reprogrammed I am just having doubts. Someone on the UK site said to just turn off the reversing sensors on the dash which is fine by me. Just thought they were supposed to automatically turn themselves off when a trailer was detected.
