    Default Brake Light Switch?

I have just received a new brake light switch from the UK, however not knowing these cars well would appreciate if someone can let me know exactly where this is on a 2005 C5 HDI and how easy it is to replace.

Thanks in advance for your sound advice.

I believe that it lives in the passengers footwell just above where the tops of your toes would be.

Richard, Why have you found it necessary to replace the brake light switch ?
My 2006 C5 HDI 6 speed has been throwing up some stability and traction control faults on the screen these last few days, so ... as David S often declares strange things can happen because of the switch ( that does more than turn on brake lights ).... what were the symptoms you had ?
    Thanks

Pretty much similar to what you are seeing. Engine management fault, loss of power, stability and traction faults, which after stopping, turning car off and pressing brake pedal a few times seems to clear. The error light stays but everything seems to work just fine with full power and all. Typically at some point later in the day the error message will clear totally and all will be good for a while, at least until it happens again.
