    Default CX colour and Mags?

Can anyone tell me what is the name or number of colour on this CX?

And does anyone know if there are any Mag wheels like this around?

It looks pretty cool and I would like to copy it!

I believe this is Rouge Delage and those wheels are exclusive to the Turbo series. You'd have next to no chance of finding a set in Australia.

Double Chevron must have a set that he removed to get 'proper' tyres for his CX Turbo II. These will only take TRX tyres which is good and bad. Don't put them on an ordinary CX though, does not look right.

    are you in Australia ?
here in Europe you can find them easily. Not everyone prefers to drive these with TRX tyres (very $$$$$$). I still have a set for my T2, but after the winter will go 16 inch. modern rubber drives much better.

Thanks Donat and Greg. I will have to look for mags that look similar then for which I can use conventional tyres. I am in Europe for now.
Can I get 16" that fit the CX? Do you just ask for 16" wheels that fit a CX? Shane

If you are looking for mag options, there's an Alfa alloy that fits. Look for Petpug, he has them on his CX (which was once mine).

My father chucked the 'T'urbo wheels from my car before he imported it from the UK ( Why would anyone pay HUGE $$$ for that TRX garbage is beyond me). The tires are all least $500 each if you can find them.

You can get aftermarket alloys for it in Australia. The stud pattern is 5 x 98. You'll need to get the offset measure and make sure you have clearance in the rear wheel arches.

Like Shane mentioned clearance in the rear wheel arches is the tricky thing !
alfa 147-156 wheels are all over the place, easily found.
15 inch steel (in either 6J or 6.5J) will be an easy mount, no changes needed but a set of bolts. that is what I have now with decent winter tyres.
if you want 16 inch alloy, you have to really just try !
I have a set that works, but is 6,5 J, with 205 tyres. I had different Alfa spoke alloy set in 7J that had no rear clearance.
But I do have to grind something off in front, or use a spacer so it wonīt get stuck on the brake caliper....
at least they are the same 5x98 and 58 mm centre hole.

aftermarket stuff is often 5x100, so you need sliding bolts. Good luck !
    Do report you solution here.

Mine has 17x8 wheels on it. There are alot of options available, you need not be limited to the 5x98 pcd I use 5x100 pcd with wobbly bolts. I did have to adjust the inner part of the rear arches(big hammer) and file the lip (back to plastic) intwo places on the rear spats to accommodate them. Another consideration is the hub shape of the wheel so it doesn't foul the front calipers.

I also had a set of 17 x 8 inch Azev type A wheel machined from blanks in 1996 or so (because there wasn't very much aftermarket stuff for CX's back then) they were 1300 quid with tyres then. I replaced them with the current wheels back in 2009

Never looked too hard The Azevs were tired and I did fancy driving around on welded rims. Plus I liked the look of the current wheels they are Dotz Hanzo. They have a nice scupltured shape to them.

Alpha wheels are still there Donat and the CX is going very well - got a new interior and a lot of work under the bonnet (thanks Jason). Now added a DS21ie (non Pallas) to the stable. Cheers, petpugCX colour and Mags?-img_8340.jpg

I know of a set of original alloys in Northern NSW. Owner is willing to sell as they are just lying around. He went for the Alfa option because of the cost of tyre replacement. If anyone is interested PM and I'll give you his number.

Is this colour Rouge Delage or Rouge Florentin? And was Florentin a metallic colour or not? It looks metallic here but photos can be deceiving. according to the year and model 1986, Pallas EI Automatic, it probably should be Rouge Delage. Is this correct?

That looks like Rouge Delage with a lot of very artistic lighting, or at a very slim chance even with some fleck added during a respray. RD is a solid colour, not metallic, and it is a colour which can look quite flat in photography, hence I suspect the use of artistic lighting. RD is most often seen in Australia on 2CV Charlestons. The photos appear closest to RD in the area around the rear numberplate, the sides look far too reflective.
The red CX25GTi that was advertised for so long (last year/ earlier this year - I've forgotten) in NSW is Rouge Delage.

    Hello Bruce,
thanks for your thoughts. I think you may be right. It's a really nice colour. My CX is white and for the moment I will leave it. It is a bit tired looking though and I am not fond of white and may change it to this. A white car seems more like a refrigerator to me!
