Default C5 2004 HDi 2.0L Power Loss SOLVED!!!!

    Hi
Thank you for your advise, purchased a MAF (mass air flow) sensor online for $80 eBay one week delivered from the UK and the car is like new.
Loads of power, after the vehicle has been inspected/misdiagnosed by;-
    1. One general mechanic
    2. Two independent Citroen mechanics
    3. One Citroen dealer

It appears that all scan tools will not register a fault with MAF sensor and that the experiences from all you dedicated frogies has made me so very very happy, after suffering one year of an under-performing C5.

Had a similar problem with my 2006 C5 HDI. Symptoms were:

    1. General loss of power.
    2. "De-polution" errors. This would disappear after a few starts.
    3. On acceleration, made reasonable boost initially, then dropped back to lower boost.
    4. Sometimes made no boost at all after logging an error (what a slug!).

Cure was to remove the MAF and clean it with CRC MAF cleaner. Horsepower in a can!
The old girl is back to it's old self, still a loverly engine at 200K! Economy has dived, but
I suspect that is caused by the operator enjoying having all that torque back...

Hope this helps others with similar symptons.
