Default Is there asbestos in XMs

    Greetings Citroen Enthusiasts

In the front plastic panel that holds the cooling fans there looks to be a fibrous binder, does anyone know if this is asbestos in an early 1990s XM?

    Thanks

I don't think so. Some items like radiator support panels are made of a moulded fibreglass material as used in the BX bonnet and so on.

I wouldn't think so either, the litigation involved in slipping in a bit of asbestos wouldn't be worth it.

I do not know about XMs but asbestos was certainly used in the heat shields for the carbies and fuel pumps on Slough Tractions.

I don't know about Citroen but the Metro Cabs (london taxis) that Combined Cabs brought into Sydney in the early 1990s had a fibreglass body made by Reliant, these had stickers on the inside of the panels saying,caution-Asbestos.
