    Default DS Auto - Sticking

    Hi all,
I have a DS23 Autos Pallas 1973. Love the car. I have a problem at the moment and finding it hard to fix. Before I go to an Auto specialist I thought I'd post for opinions from other Auto owners. At the moment, the car is struggling to change gear for the first 1-15 mins of driving. After that, it all runs fine....but just very annoying until it gets going. Any ideas of a fix?

The first this i would do is drain and change the fluid. Sounds like it needs to warm up before the viscosity is right. Not sure if there is a filter, but check the manual. At the very least a fluid change is an easy fix.

Thanks for the response. We've tried that but still no improvement.

    Hi Mark,

Which Newport do you live in ? If Queensland, you are lucky as we have the best DS auto mechanic up here. If not, I am looking right now for the web address of the guy in Holland who is one of the best with DSautos and will be able to help you, no doubt.

I'd be hesitant to take an Auto DS to a regular automatic transmission person. Yeah I know it's a Borg Warner 35 but its in a DS and not a truck. There are so many variables it takes a person with DS Auto experience to know the issues. Have you talked with either Denton Christie or Jason Hantos. I'd strongly suggest them before anywhere else.

Try one of the long term DS mechanics in Sydney.
Maybe describe the symptoms to either/both Jason Hantos (Hornsby) and Denton Christie @ European Autocare (Penrith).
Both are sponsors of the CCC and have their contact etails in the mag/ccc website.
Both have long term knowledge and practicle experience with troublesome Automatics.
