The real genius of that recreation, judging by the ladder, is the Tardis interior.

I agree. The 'make-over' is not my idea of a good time. I dont get it. If you wanna drive a Ferrari, buy one. :-?

Mort, I can just see you and hear the laughter as you suckered someone into a traffic light tussle. You'd love it. I know I would!

Its much more fun blowing someone off at the lights in a standard 2CV. Any clown can do it with a Ferrari, though its amazing how many Ferrari drivers don't bother. My only problem with the 2CV is changing into second without a graunch as the syncro is crap. I think I need a new clutch as well as I love surprising people at the lights and this habit is expensive on clutches. I think the "602cc of Unleashed Fury" sticker on the rear window throws them off. Perhaps I should warn them with another sign "Driver is 67 but still in puberty".

My favourite is Bates Drive off the Princes Highway at Sylvania/Kareela in Sutherland Shire. If I get the jump (and negotiate second gear), its downhill with a nice right-hander followed by a left-hander. Everyone brakes for the first corner. I don't. Sometimes I'm even in top gear at that stage so its point and shoot and hang on tight, with maybe a double clutch into third gear to tame the excitement for the left-hander. Flat out in third is OK. The rear tyres are 22 psi (rather than the prescribed 26 psi) and the front tyres are 20 psi. That allows the tail to come out slightly and tame the understeer. Most of the traction is on the front outside tyre, so balance in a corner is similar to balance on a monocycle. Must get the Michelins onto the Charleston, as the Nankangs on Daffy Duck are pretty poor and its suspension is set a lot higher so its not as good at cornering.

For the life of me, I still get amazed how you can get away with driving a 2CV hard.

JBN you are cheating ! It isn't your speed that beats the opposition. You scare the poor buggers to death with your roll angles !!!

    Must be fun though.
