Default Putting a C5 on Stands

If I want to lift my C5 using the suspension then support it on stands to work under the front end, where should I position the car stands for maximum safety and avoid any damage?
I've read Craig's sticky on safely working under these cars.

    Thanks
    Justin

You ideally need a jack as well; position this under the sill jacking point.

The stand can be topped with a 10mm pad of hard rubber, and placed under a rear securing bolt for the front cradle (subframe). When you do the first side, it will lift the back wheel that side in the air as well. Don't panic; jacking up the opposite number will return it to earth.

Further note: I recommend an aftermarket jack; the supplied item is not much chop for extended usage to say the least. Ebay is swarming with suitable items from $50 to $250.
