Yeah; easy-peasy. Get onto "xmaffyx" on UK Fleabay and he'll give you the key cutting code plus the ECU unlock code for programming the key, for about four quid.

Pretty sure it's a chip key.

Almost positive they're a chipped key. So once its arrived you need a bod with Lexia to plug in and code the new key. Otherwise it will key lock and unlock, and crank over but won't start.

Matt is very quick on the codes usually - if you paid now you'd have it tonight.

p.s. At that price for the cut keys, I'd order two!

I have this Citroen card with a magnetic stripe and a picture of a key...looks like you swipe a key over this card???
    strange..
I have the spare fob...won't that be already programmed...has the circuit board inside
Have also called Citroen Brisbane who may be able to help from the VIN
I still need the blade though....

Does the card have a scratch and sniff panel in the bottom right corner? If so, your four character BSI programming access code is under there. This is a combination of numbers and letters with no "i" or "o" to avoid confusion with ones and zeros.

The remote and chip are two different things. Normally the key blade and chip (often not much bigger than a grain of rice) go together - the chip works with the immobiliser in the ECU, but its passed through the BSI.

The keyfob sends a radio signal to the BSI that operates the central locking. It doesn't allow an unrecognised key to start the car.

Your local Citroen dealer will get a key for you. You will need to flat tray the car to them to program the key in though. Poogoes keys were about $515 each. You NEED a second key too. If you ever loose the key the car is imoblised and stranded at it's current location without a spare

Look on top of the fridge, in the freezer, the mailbox... you know, all those usual places.

Around our place you come in the front door and you put keys where they belong immediately. That way one cannot be told "it's where you left them".

I have four keys for the Xantia.

Touch vinyl, never lost a car or house key but in one week at work managed to lose both a swipe card and a master key!

and to top it off the water ran out...fine I think...I have a back up storage tank....but NO the pump won't start to transfer the water to my main tank!!!
exhausted after 2 solid days of turning the house/outbuildings upside down....
and then this afternoon I get a call that the keys have been found at the local shops..
Jen had driven there with the keys and somehow they have fallen out...
A lesson learnt and a key will be ordered (if I can find the key code!!)
