Mick Popka from the TOC posted this very early production line clip on the TA-L Yahoo group.
    Enjoy

GS production is examined (in a PETA visits meat-works fashion) in the five uploaded parts of Louis Malle's feature length documentary "Humain, trop Humain",
    pt 1, maybe, works for me, but ...;
    http://youtu.be/NLwjIuZUBhQ

also Chris Marker's 1977 "le fond de l'air est rouge" , otherwise known as "A Grin Without a Cat", has a similar but brief sequence of SMs among Ds. This is probably not on youtube, though.

How about posting a few other you tube videos on the Citroen theme?
Here is another one from an early Top Gear.

Ignore the National lampoons at each end of the clip.
    And another; driving an 11Normale

Thank you for posting this link. Fascinating to watch... in part 3 there is a lady bending hydraulic pipe around a jig... in heels!.. over and over...it's all repetitive movement of course... some of them doing it while the bloody thing is moving! Did they do this for hours on end? Did they have multiple breaks? Did they change stations? The guys in the spray paint booth have no masks! They change shift wiping the paint off their noses! Are they all dead now from toxic poisoning? And I wonder what their feelings were toward the car they were building.. love it, loathe it, pride, hatred, indifference?

    Found the entire movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzKGO...hannel&list=UL

Apparently the uploader has it divvied into several parts- his numbering is a little confusing. Well, to me, anyway. The movie is listed on his channel.

Click on the "CC" button at the bottom of the viewing window for English subtitles.

you beauty - i was not going to suggest anyone went to pirate bay
    now to find the sequence
i seem to remember it was intersposed with street demo's - but there is a bit of that on this
it is, imho, worth watching at least once - if you like this sort of agitprop and footage of castro and debray et cie
i can try to pinpoint the bit, but i would really rather find more and a better copy of that showing M. Opron at work.

Yah, I want to look at it complete when I'm feeling a bit more inclined. What little I did see looked interesting.

I have favorited and watched Humain, trop Humain and you're right, it does have a kind of detached damning quality to it. The other realization though is without that factory, few if any of those people are employed, and the region suffers as a whole.

I had a look at your find on M. Opron. Of course, that kinda takes you to other videos of the GS. If I don't snap myself out of it, I could watch those for hours on end.

    Damn, I love the GS.

It's at the very end of part 6 and beginning of part 7. Yes, that clip with Opron is cool... love the suit.

I also meant to say thanks for posting this, Gerry. Does Mick have a complete version of this?

That is as much as Mick posted. I think it may be very rare to have such early footage. The interesting part for me was the parade of cars towards the end. Some of the early colour schemes were very attractive. Also there is every type of body represented except the 22CV.

Here is another one. Good for those who can understand French. Interesting in that it shows the very first drive shaft 'homokinetique' constant velocity joint with the protective case removed and in action! Note the different type of early swivel joint on the prototype.
Plus nice shots of various TAs in action including 6H.

Vive La traction ----the greatest Citroen of them all!

Mick that is a good joke. Financially Retromobile Feb 2013 is definitely out for me!

    Default Those crazy Finns....

Some more good clips. Thought I'd use this old thread rather than start a new one. I particularly like the oil leak award ceremony. Rather think I'm in with a chance.
