Default FREE R 16 Auto - Be very quick

This morning I went to look at an Avocado Green 16 Auto parked at Brookvale Muffler and Mechanical Centre (the OLD Simonetta place) at 24 Roger St, Brookvale.

This car has been owned from new by a little old lady and has been continually serviced by Simonetta's apparently. The panels are straight except for the drivers door which was obviously open when she reversed into something. The door almost shuts but the hinges will have to be bent back to original. The tailgate is really good. The glass and lights are all intact. All the bits are on the car and it has not been canibalised.

Otherwise the interior is fine. The seats are good but not tombstones. The carpets need attention.

It has the strip dash. Forgot to check mileage. It has the chrome grille. It was first registered in 1975. There are no plates on the car. The rear bumper has a ding in the middle section

The car will go to the tip tomorrow unless arangements are made with the custodian, Andrew, the mechanic at the Centre. He knows the history of the car and is a thoroughly good fellow.

Surely someone out there wants this car? It is too good to go to the tip. It is easily restorable to a decent condition without much money being spent. The paint just needs a cut and polish.

    This car is FREE. call Andrew on 02 9905 3007 or 02 9905 4379 but don't procrastinate

I'm sure the sentiment is shared amongst the R16 lovers, when I thank you for saving her Alastair.

It would have been very sad to see the 'avacado' to the tip.. one of my favorite colours on a 16.
If it was in Melbourne, I could have seen myself wrecking one of my existing 16s to make room, and that would have been bitter sweet.

Great work! One more 16 on the road we likely wouldn't have.

Just shows, keep your eyes peeled Aussiefroggers!

Thanks, David. It will make a beaut car. It has gone to one of our new club members who is a v keen Renault afficionado. He recently bought a 12 and has an R8G on the way from somewhere.

He told me it started first go and was no trouble getting it on to a trailer. It won't take much to bring it up to scratch.

I agree that Avocado Green is a great colour on these cars, As the panels are all straight and there is v little rust it'll be a low cost resto.
