    Hey, I was just lookin the newspaper and saw a 2002 clio expression for 18 thou. Why would your sport be so much more, could you tell me the differences between the two?

    Thanks head_ban

    18k for a Clio Expression seems expensive to me, there seem to be quite a few demos in MEL going for around 16k. Brand new, on list price alone there's a 14k gap between the Clio Sport & Expression.

    The Clio Sport has

    * the 2.0 vs the 1.4 in the Expression (ie. an extra 52kW),
    * Xenon lights
    * Climate control
    * CD player (although with various promotions on the base model this is a bit of a moot point)
    * Better upholstery (suede like material, probably Alcantara)
    * 4 wheel disc brakes
    * Sports suspension
    * Multi adjustable headrests (not just height, also for angle)
    * Alloy wheels
    * Aluminium pedals
    * Hydraulic power steering (electric on the Expression)
    * Trip computer (standard in the Expression auto though)
    * Leather steering wheel
    * Foglights
    * Auto wipers & lights
    * 3 doors

    Those are the main ones I can remember (almost did buy a Clio ), others can fill you in on the others.

    EDIT: DAMMIT BEATEN!!!!!! Grumble, grumble 307's, grumble............

    Easy to answer that one,

    Sport ; 124Kw 2.0L engine, 7.3 sec 0-100, disc brakes all round

    Expression; 72Kw 1.4L, 10+ 0-100, drum rear brakes

    In other words the Clio sport is one of THE hot hatches to have at the moment. The expression is the base model.

    Kind of an XR 206 vs a 206 GTi180 idea.

    Jono wink

    I wouldn't like to try. They're completely different cars. For a start, an expression is 5 door and a RenaultSport model is 3 door.

    You'd have to do what WRCPUG has done recently with a 306GTi6->XR, and pick up a wrecked (but still with salvegable parts) RS Clio and take it from there. Anything's possible, but i'd be saving the $ and buying an RS Clio in a year or so when used ones start coming up.

    In a few months I should have enough for my clio sport engine, then the 19 txe - 19 clio sport engine conversion should start taking shape.

    The only reason for it possibbly being delayed is if I don't find an engine or the insurance/rego is too hard to obtain- then I'll wait until I'm off my P-plates in another year and a bit.
