    Cars for Sale

Just updating some cars we have for sale.
At present I have the following cars listed that people need to sell.

    1994 Peugeot 405 SRI $6,000

    1985 Peugeot 505 8 seater $5,000

1984 Peugeot 505 STI sedan -price dropped to only $2,000

Now here is a couple of new listings that are real bargins.

2000 Clio Sport, this is one of the original 75 series 1 Clios individually numbered by Renault Australia, a true modern collectors item, very rare oportunity at $28,000

Now here is one of those crazy to pass up deals.

1975 DS23 Pallas EFI 5 Speed, top of the range, a true collectors item in any country, very original and unbutchered, needs restoring but is 99.9% complete right down to the factory air conditioning that still works, drives very well and I consider it a bargin at the asking price of only $4,000.
It's hard to fault mechanically, the body and interior need restoring but all the Pallas trim is there and the rear carpets don't even look like the've been used. For someone wanting to restore a D series this is it.
You'll be sorry if you miss out.

    David.

G'day David, can you tell me a bit about the STi? Also, how can I contact you? Thanks.

    Hi David,

Tell me more about the DS23. How much needs to be done to get it registered? How many miles has the motor done? How old is the clutch? Is it running?

    Cheers,

    G'day boodek and Renaults-Also-Go.

I'll try to tell you a bit more about them. The 505, I've known the history of for about 10 years, it's done about 270,000km, everything works, it has tinted windows, CD player, fairly new tyres but there not on STI rims, it's running GR rims with aftermarket fake spoke type hubcaps, looks ok. Body is straight but the metallic grey paint is fading and a little surface rust is becoming noticable around the rear screen (but only if you look hard at it).
Mechanicals are quite good and typical for it's age, it's had a new clutch a couple of years ago, the air cond has been fully serviced and gassed up, cooling system has been regulary serviced. It's a typical well maintained 19 (nearly 20) years old car. Now the only fault with it is a typical problem with these type of engines (fuegos suffer from this too) the head gasket gets brittle over the years, this car has never had the head off and because of this the head gasket is brittle and at the back of the engine there is an oil gallery and the gasket falls apart around it making quite a bad oil leek down the back of the engine, the only fix is to replace the head gasket, but remember it's not because the engine has overheated, it's just because the gasket is old, the head doesn't need machineing, just pull the head up and fit a new gasket, not hard. The second problem is the because of this oil leek, the oil has run down and is making the clutch shudder slightly, like I said, the clutch isn't very old so I'm hoping that once the oil leek is fixed the clutch will cure itself. I do have some photos of this car if your still interested.

As for the DS23, I don't know any history at all. We got it last Friday with a view to wrecking it (we get $2,000 just for the gearbox).
When it arrived we all thought the same thing, that it's way to good to wreck, we put a battery in it and it started immediatly, we then put the trade plate on the back and off we went out into the traffic and the only fault we could find is a slow 2nd gear syncro, but it rides, steers and brakes just as good as ever, the motor feels very strong and pulls very hard, cooling system appears to be ok. The only faults are all cosmetic. It's a metallic gold type of color, champange color, maybe it's even green, it's very hard to say when it's faded this much, the interior is matching and the whole car has had more damage by the sun fading everthing rather then high milage abuse. There is a scrape of the RHF door and gaurd but a easy repair, the rest of the car includeing all the front panels and the valuable air cond front bumber are all straight. The boot lid is rusted out and would need replacing but the boot floor feels to be sound (although it is a little damp).

There's one the same color in the latest Just Cars mag for $18,000. This car is the same except ours is fuel injected (that one is carburettored) but otherwise there twins, even there number plates are only a few cars apart.

This car is a real bargain and won't last long, I'm surprised I havn't any more responces, anyone can email me at [email protected] if more info is needed. I can arrange transport in needed.

    David.

    David,

Thanks for the reply. I think I'll pass on the DS23. It sounds like a good project but I don't think my marriage will stand it. You wouldn't happen to have a driveshaft for a Renault 30 would you?

No problem. Is the shaft the same as 20? If yes then we should have one.

Bizarrely enough this DS 23 sounds interesting! Hopefully I'll be in sunny Melbourne in two or so weeks and where abouts are you, David?

No, it's not the same as a 20 driveshaft. I have two R20s in my backyard as spares, but their driveshafts don't fit.

    Nothing Bizarre about it donat;

I believe this to be one of those once in a life time oppertunaties. some one will get a car that has potential to be one of the best DS23's in the country. If I was smart I'd keep it myself. The workshop is in Airport West which is just West of the airport, 38 King Street to be exact, you can call in anytime but to be honest, the number of calls we've had I doubt it'll be here in 2 weeks time. I'll see what I can do about getting some pics of it.

Thanks for the reply; it's the sort of car I'm after but the usual story - lack of money - hampers things somewhat.

    Latest offering.

    1980 CX 2400 C matic.

This is an excellent project vehicle, body looks great in two tone matallic blue over dark blue with blue interior, car has original electric sun roof and alloy wheels. Drives really well except for slipping torque convertor. This is the perfect opertunity for someone with a rusty CX to build one out of two and get a very nice car. Looking for offers around the $2,000 mark.

Ashley T. I tried to find that Clio today but it appears to be gone but I have something else that might interest people.

    2000 model Xsara VTS coupe,
1 owner all books history etc.
50,000km, charcoal grey colour, immaculate vehicle,
    $20,000

I think this is a bargain, well worth grabing.

    Hmmmm Xsara VTS....124kw....

    It's a VTS not a VTR?

I didn't realize they had depreciated so much....sounds like an excellent price

    Huhh?
I thought VTS referred to the series 2 Xsara coupe with the 2 litre engine.
If this is a 2000 model 2 litre then it would be a series 1 Xsara and thus NOT a VTS, which didn't come out til later.

    or am I wrong?

Thought I had seen a private import series 1 coupe advertised down south a while back, it may be this.
