Maybe this should be in the Trading Post forum?

Actually, I've noticed that there is often a number of parts ads in this forum... and car ads are sometimes in the parts forum... and parts ads finish up in the Trading Post too.

nearly got one before i got the GTi-6
the only thing that turned me off was the cost of servicing and parts
otherwise there would most probably have been a 928S parked in the drive instead
635CSI bimmer was the other car i was thinking of getting but again servicing and parts again was too much

Barry Sheene to journalist; "What, you're thinking of buying a 928? I had one of those - it wouldn't pull the dick off a chocolate mouse!".

928s are very nice cars. Properly maintained, it is a very nice machine to own and drive. Unfortunately, they are very expensive to maintain and drink fuel like nothing else.

If you are to buy a 928, AVOID the manual transmission - they are very very heavy and clunky. Fortunately they are very rare (does that make them collectors items?!? ) and absolutely make sure they have a full service history. Most 928s I see are pretty neglected and driven hard. Looking at the quality of the pictures posted, it's very hard to tell the condition of the car (and what the hell is that hideous steering wheel doing there!?!)

It's scary to think that Porsche once wanted to replace the 911 with the 928 eek!
You're not paranoid if everyone hates you.
