With a bit of notice I could have delivered one last week.

I'll check if pugrambo is going your way some time, apparently he's going to Sydney soon, he may also go to Moss Vale. I have one in his backyard.

Check with Dave McBean too... he's stripped out a lot of 504s.

Most of the 504s (or possibly all) which I've stripped didn't have tow bars, although there may have been one. I think my friend has it amongst his spares collection and probably wants to keep it that way.

When I stripped my own 504 I swapped the tow bar onto my 505.

Strange... I know it was a long time before I got one too... but all the recent purchases I have made have included towbars.

Yes, I THINK a 505 towbar should fit a 504, but I haven't tried it, so there may be some interference factor which I don't know about.

As I said, I did the opposite conversion (504 towbar onto a 505) and it works providing that you're willing to put a dent in the bottom of the body panel below the rear bumper. Mine was already dented, so this didn't worry me. The towbar hides the dents anyway.

I usually don't mention this conversion because people generally don't like putting dents in their car (funny that ).

Unfortunatley its an automatic gearbox and a bit sad I think Sorry for the confusion I recieved a private message regarding the gearbox in the 505 I couldn't remember how to send a private message so I wrote it in French. "secret language" only a few hundred million people will understand. If it had been a manual box I would have been a bit more consciencious but if it had been, I doubt if it would have still been there, now I've confused myself, which is not hard to do. regards cane toad

Do you need an auto box for a 504?

I can probably come up with one of these...

Definatley not, when I went to look at the 505 I was hoping it was a 5 speed, if I could have got it for a good price I might have bought it, but when I saw it was an auto I lost interest. I drove a 504 with an auto box once made me glad we have a 4 speed manual regards cane toad

Just saw a 504 tow bar in the back of a trailer. I was told it's going to Mittagong this weekend and if anyone wants to come up from Wollongong to buy it they will be most welcome.

    It's true, it's true!

I do have a 504 towbar in my trailer, and I am going to Mittagong this weekend!

And it is priced to sell! How do you know all these things, Sean?

cane toad, it's all yours if you want it... drive up to Mittagong on Sunday and we'll do a top deal on this little piece of steel. Nice brackets in the boot, too, someone's gone to a bit of trouble. But I lost one of the nuts... you'll have to find another one somewhere.

And you'll have to redrill the 'goosneck' I've got with it, because it's not the original one. But I might do that for you, actually, and I think I have bolts to fit that.

Ask nicely and I'll weld a bracket onto it for your Utilux fitting too... and somewhere to anchor your safety chain as well.

This could be a real bargain for you!

Phone me and I'll ring you back... 0411 280 267.

Well... it's like this... you know about it, and I know about it... but there's a certain Wollongong dwelling cane toad (didn't know they came that far south!) that needs to find out.

I hope he rings me soon, it's getting heavy carrying it around...
