    FOR SALE - DS21 EFI

I have to sell my beloved DS21 EFI after nearly nine years of wonderful motoring.

The car has been used as a daily driver and has always been looked after by the guys at European Auto's in Penrith.

She's a 1971 non - pallas body (protruding door handles) - white, motor tight and powerful with 5 speed box, beautiful new interior done by Greg at Syvelle Motor Trimmers (NSW)(black) - you always finish doing up a car just before you are goung to sell it don't you....
Recent work includes new front pads, spheres regassed. Drives beautifully, rego till end of July.

If only they didnt have a column shift...
I reckon a turbo Mazda Wankel motor (Citroens and wankel motors not being strangers to each other) and auto trans would be nice in a DS - a smooth quick engine for a smooth car

Hmm... considering I have an auto DS with a currently empty engine bay... you're giving me some ideas here...

lol.....If some people here have reservations (originality etc) about putting a rotary into a 504, they'll have a heart attack if you were to shoehorn a turbo 13b into a DS! eek!

    I say go for it
Unless you're throwing out a 23, and then you're probably certifiable

I generally try to keep thing original too, but I always thought that rough old motor from the 40s didnt fit the spaceship image of the DS - a silent vibration free motor with some serious kick in it would complete the picture (would love to get hold of one of the prototype CXs that Citroen built with the triple rotor NSU Wankel motor - ~180 bhp. Yummy! )

    Haakon,

don't knock the column shift, that column shift is the best of it's kind you'll find. It's VASTLY better than the floor shift CX's gearchange.

Don't knock it till you try it It's even better than the R16ts gearchange !!

I thought DS engine bays are quite narrow - how did they get it fit??!

There's an enormous amount of room in there - once you leave out things like steering and gear linkages, and the steering rods. So I guess if you could find a way to re-route all that stuff (I'd imagine that for a different engine, presumably with the transmission behind the engine, you'd have to do so with the gear linkages anyway) there'd be plenty of room left over for a big donk.

But Craig, now you've got me thinking... I'm going to have to find out who this P76 man is and hunt him down... wink

Pity the poor DS21 vendor whose thread has been hijacked......

Mixing DNA of makes isn't really my scene, but how about going back to the original DS roots of an aircooled flat six. Would a Subaru H6 (albeit water cooled) fit in?

I have justed noted this post after I posted my intention to buy a CX. If only I hadn't just moved into a new factory with all its costs. Oh well if I can't have it I am sure it will find a good home, hopefully in Victoria, we could do with a bit of a cultural upgrade down here.
