I can sell you one with heaps of engine mods. Nothing but the best in the engine and still room for you to do lots with it.

Here's the link to the for sale thread:

My nitrous 205GTi is for sale

I'm open to offers at the moment. If your interested let me know and we might be able to sort something out.

I have a 87 "rolling shell" basically a complete car less carpet and engine block. I bought this about 8 years ago, with about 130k's on the clock, with the intention of converting to a circuit race car. My main criteria was a clean, straight, rust free shell. It's been stored in a garage for the last 7 years.

For a project car this would be ideal as most "cheap" 205's will have heaps of k's and may be less than straight.

I also have many spares for the car including suspension components, complete late model torsion bar with disc brakes, the list goes on.

Feel free to contact me for details.
    Regards,
    Matt

I've also got an '87 GTi rolling shell. Red, naturally. Probably not quite as good as Matt's. Sort of a "renovators delight". Would make a great race car.

Thanks Warwick, yeah it's pretty tidy, here's a pic just before it went into storage:

    Default Project car opportunity!

    Hi,

I have a white, late 87 series 1. It has about 350,000 kms but I think it's actually more than that because the trip counter is slow. Bought it off Andrian Willeiumin (sp?), about 5 years ago, $4700, with ~312 000. He claims to have rebuilt the engine 3000k before that.

It just went out of rego because the alternator went. Before that water hose split and took head gasket. Water hose blew because car was off road for 6 months to change gearbox. Gearbox went because it was just old I guess.

As much fun as it is, I bought Mum's commodore - I need to get to work!

    Base mechanicals are ok, but:
    -347,000km+
    - bonnet bent
    - front right guard bent
    - alternator gone
    - front right wheel has -2.5 deg camber, presumably due to bent hub, never bothered fixing it, causes drift to left
    - almost new tyres, 3 x A539, 2 x Bridgestone something-or-other
    - almost new battery
    - can be rego'ed (with alternatoir)
    - reconditioned radiator
    - gearbox is leftover from Mi16 conversion so should be good (feels better than what I replaced)
    - Head has lots of aluminium left for increasing compression, thanks to gasket blowing and needing a new head
    - bottom end and head are good
    - Timing belt and tensioner new
    - Interior plastics hopeless or gone
    - fan speed control replaced with switch
    - Seats are reconditioned
    - Exhaust should be replaced, all of it (empty!)
    - fronit brake calipers are worn and should be replaced, back brakes are good
    - reconditioned rear suspension (drum brakes, trailing arm bearings)
    - left headlight should be replaced
    - straight chassis (as far as I know, one accident, Adrian's, just bonnet and guard)
    - needs clip to hold spare wheel under car (it's in the boot at the moment)
    - air box should be replaced
    - oil and filter replaced religiously
    - driveshafts ok

$1000 negotiable (hint: will accept $500). I am in Killara near Chatswood. 0402 570 289 if interested
