    Hi Chris
Wasn't that your 16V in at Tom's for a clutch a couple of weeks ago? Why are you selling it - car looks immaculate compared to both my BXs and they are in good shape.

I think you'll find this is a different Chris; the one at Dolans was Chris Mortimers car.

I told my girlfriend last night that she has to sell her Corolla and buy the BX. I won't tell you what she said. Let's just say it isn't her look. If I had the room in the garage, I would have already bought it. From the pics, I've never seen a better one.

I'm with Luca, it'd only take him the drive home to realise the BX is a vastly supperior car to his little poogoe in just about any respect you care to mention.

By the time he had got the BX home, the poogoe would either be a parts car for it, or on the market

Poor little poogoe, just can't match the competition can it Maybe if you sell it, save for a while (well ages) you might be able to affort a **real** hot hatch (ie: a bog standard FWD Renault 5 GT turbo , those gay looking little cars will whip the 205's arse).

You can stash it down the great ocean racetrack, and keep the *real* car to drive everyday

    Luca,

To put it bluntly the Citroen community would stone you to death. This car is a lovely example; anyone who would wreck it should be shot

    Default Why I'm selling

It's a great car, but it has let me down a couple of times, once when the clutch cable snapped, once when the plastic thermostat housing disintigrated. I run my own business so will purchase a new car, not sure what, but given trade in offers, and other car prices I figured that what I am asking will achieve a quick sale.

To give you some idea of the things done to the car:

    - New timing belt, auxilary belt, auxilary tensioner, hydraulic belt all at 165kms, recharged AC, new front disks and pads, new suspensiuon drop links, rear suspension bearings replaced, new radiator, reconditioned alternator, new battery, full efi service, new idle solenoid, etc etc etc.

There are 2 things wrong with the car a hole in the exhaust ,and the cover over the towing eye is damaged ( I have it but it needs to be repaired).

So who's going to buy it because it won't last?

    Chris

By the way, taking out the engine to put in a 205 would be a shame, why not enjoy 2 extra doors, a much better interior and still stunning performance?

I was kidding guy i couln'd do it... it would break my heart too. I'm bloody tempted though.

I'd love the thing coz for 5 ginos it's a great buy and an extra grand spent on it would see it with the problems fixed and a PeterT cam in it. Wooooohhoooooo!

    Gee's,

I park the bloody thing in the shed and keep it as a toy car before I'd sell it for $5000..... Infact I think I tend to use that thoery with all my cars

If your missus won't let you keep it, stash it at your parents place or somthing for a few months until she forgets, DON'T SELL IT !!!!!! Looks very much like a keeper to me

I can already see the add in about 3months "ex BX owner desperatly seeks a tidy BX 16valve ....."

I think $7k would be a "quick sale" price but $5k is a give away price... !

If it's as clean and as good as it looks it's a shame to give it away ....particulalrly with all that work having been done to it...

It will also set the benchmark for all future BX sales...

A standard TRI has just dropped to $2k!

And any 16V that tries to sell for the coming months has just been dealt a savage blow....!!

Don't accpet an offer for gods sake...

My wife likes the car. It's just time for a new car and I don't want to spend 12 months selling it, which is about how long Continentals and the Oldtimer Centre took with their ones. I think the one at Oldtimer's is still there, so for $8,500 you can buy a newer car with lower mileage in slightly better condition.
