i wish you the best of luck as 604's only came with odd fire engines

your only chance to get an even fire would be from a later model volvo

as i stated in another thread there are a few volvos for sale in the trading post

at the moment there are 5 of them but all odd fire in victoria for sale between $900 and $1250

    Hi pugrambo,

I know nothing when it comes to Volvos -- do you know off-hand
which models and which years had the 3 litre even fire motor?

    thanks, Mike

Hey mrpug, do you drive a lowered 504 Ti with "MRPUG" numberplates? Are you Greg Park's nephew or something like that? Do you plan to convert the car to V6 power? Tell us more.

the earlier versions of the 760's came with the even fire 2.9 i think

260's came with the odd up untill around 85/86 i think and they were 2.8 or 2849cc

604's were all 2664cc out here

overseas they changed and the later ones had the 2849cc engine in them

604's finished production in 1985 and the last were sold in 1986 overseas

out here they ran from 78-81 and a couple were sold in 82 from remaining parts

of course there is always the renaults as well like the safrane and the laguna that had the V6 in it but as we try to keep froggies on the road it is best to scap the volvos and save them from bieng driven by the hat wearers on the way to bowls

As suggested above there are no factory even fire V6s in 604s, however they are around if you know what you are looking for, Volvo 760 motors from 1988 to 1991 are B280s these are 2.85 litre even fires they have the right sump and will bolt in, you need to think about injection and ignition though, these are also available in V6 505 front cuts available from Roland Pym (none in stock right now)

3 litre V6s are available in 605 Peugeots, Citroen XMs and a Renault Safranes (not sure but maybe early Lagunas pre 1996) With the front drivers you will need to change the sump to fit to a 604 and with the 3 litre engine you may need to alter the LH rocker cover to not hit the LH strut tower. You may also have to remove the balance shaft I'm not sure I havent fitted one yet.

I just bought a 1 good and a 1 crappy 2850 Volvo even fire for $1500, the Safrane front cut is $3000 let me know if you want details of the Safrane, I did promise someone else first option.

There are two complete Volvo V6s at Tumblong, one is the 'octopus' inlet manifold (2664cc, no doubt), the other has the twin inlet manifolds up top, which is probably the 2850.
