    Default 505 STI

ok in the hunt for carbies i stumbled across a 505 STI in a yard

the body is perfect and dark metalic blue but missing the front passenger side guard

other parts missing are the steering rack, wheels, brake booster and binacle otherwise the rest is all there

it is auto but has a problem with the box

in asking the bloke what the story was with it he was pretty rude but that's just normal for people in this town i have found but anyway

    some prices

    rear shocks - $55pr
    rear sway bar - $55
front struts minus disc and caliper - $165pr
    front struts complete - $275pr

the whole car that is sitting there he wants $1250

    his number is (02)6862 4155

so if anyone is interested in any of the parts from this car give him a call and let him know he can surely do a little better on some prices and see how you go

this bloke doesn't tend to keep anything for too long as he likes Mr Crusher

yes he has the price for the car well over the mark

it was pretty sad seeing such an excellent car body wise sitting there in the yard

the paint and body are perfect and it would be a shame to see it go to the crusher or Mr arab but at that price i can see it sitting there till the crusher comes through

the thing is you can buy up and going ones for the same or less money with rego

only have to look at the one Ky has up for sale

for a parts car or even to put back on the road it just isn't worth the money he is after for it in my opinion

for starters you would have to source and fit the missing parts
    front left hand guard
    headlights
    wheels
    instrument cluster
    brake booster
    steering rack

then repair or replace the dead auto in it then see what else is wrong with the car after all that

by the time you have finished you are well on the road to a $2000+ figure even before you stick rego on the car

i reckon if someone got it to put on the road and had to source parts they would be looking at $3000 incl rego to have it on the road which you could easily turn around and buy Ky's car for less than 1/2 that

They could possibly do it without turning around too...

But what about the relative body/rust positions?

I believe I have a front guard the right colour by the way...

from looking over it, under it and all around it i couldn't find one patch of cancer anywhere in the car and from the looks of it no bog anywhere either

the only bit of damage to the body is the foot well in the rear passenger side is pushed up a little but that's it and even that isn't major and probably happened when they stuck it on top of a wheel and then picked it up and moved it out under the axle when they took the wheels off it

Easy fixed offer me $800 and offer him $800 and you get all the bits you need for much less than $2000
