Bogmaster dosen't own the car (least I don't think so)

It was taken from the NSW Trading Post

18 Turbos have a 1.6 all alloy crossflow motor, similar to the R16 / R17 style lump 1565cc, major difference is the head, as it has the water pump at the front of the motor.

Should also be a 5 spd.

I've heard the car is in pretty shabby condition. The previous owner wanted $5k, about 2 mths ago.

The car was an evaluation vehicle brought in by Renault in the early 80's. It was living near Lismore. When I saw it, about 3years ago, it was all there and had been sitting in a shed for maybe 10 years. Certainly needed paint and a retrim to look nice again, but then $2500 is not a lot of money for something as rare.
Same 1.6 crossflow as the Fuego Turbo that also didn't make its' way to Aus, although there are some privately imported examples. Has a small intercooler with a fan and a blowthrough single carb.

It doesnt sound too bad for the cash. Extremly rare car indeed. Not even many R18 left in France now...

    C'mon Guys,

one of you has to grab this car as a restoration project. Who cares if it takes a couple of years to get around to blowing a bit of paint at it, and tidying it up !!!

Would be a great project.... major hassles though!!...have a Renault R10(s) replica in progress at moment and would be sleeping in any other project I purchased currently
More though is the fact $$ doesn't grow in my limited garden space here

I was goin to buy it, but then changed my mind.

Was goin to put the 18T motor in the R17 can't be botherd now.

It'd be sweet though. or even in a R12
